Bachmann: House GOP needs to ?spank? Obama, ?pinch his ears back?

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) on Monday said she believes President Obama could ?wave his magic wand? to grant voting rights to immigrants presently in the country illegally ahead of the 2014 elections, and that Republicans in Congress need to ?spank? the president and ?pinch his ears back? by blocking immigration reform in the House to prevent him from doing so.

?Contrary to popular opinion, Republicans won?t get patted on the back or get new votes because of passing amnesty ? they?re going to get blamed,? Bachmann said in an interview with WorldNetDaily. ?It?s my prediction that House Republicans could put themselves in a position where they could actually lose the gavel in 2014, because I think the president by executive order could again wave his magic wand before 2014 and he?d say, now all of the new legal Americans are going to have voter rights. Why do I say that? He did that in 2012.?

Last year, the president signed an executive order to stop deporting illegal immigrants who came to the country at a young age. The change in policy did not give voting rights to non-citizens.

Bachmann said the House should leverage its power of the purse to keep the president from illegally granting voting rights in an attempt to steal the 2014 elections.

??Of course we need to - unless we?re going to pinch his ears back ? this is working for the president, it?s not working for the American people, but it?s great for him,? Bachmann said. ?He has a perpetual magic wand and nobody?s given him a spanking yet and taken it out of his hand. That?s what Congress needs to do, give the president a major wake-up call. And the way we spank the president, we do it through the checkbook.?

?We have the power of the purse,? she continued. ?The most powerful body in Washington, D.C. is the United States House of Representatives?we?re the ones who say, no you can?t have the money. What is wrong with us that we would give the president $10 cents to fund Obamacare??

?This week, the president will look to pressure House Republicans to act on immigration reform in a series of television interviews on local Spanish-language networks this week.

?Speaker Boehner (R-Ohio) has said he will not bring any immigration bill to the floor for a vote unless it has majority support from his caucus.

Bachmann has said she will not seek reelection in 2014.
